Nelson Mandela was right! “The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”
And, here at West Fraser, we are in total agreement and are reassured to see that both the UK workplace and education system are growing more flexible in terms of apprenticeships and vocational programmes. We have a great history in supporting youth opportunities and many of our team have enjoyed long, progressive careers with us. It follows, therefore, that we are pleased to have partnered with Youth Employment UK in yet another initiative.
Founded in 2012, Youth Employment UK is a not-for-profit social enterprise offering skills and career support to young people to equip them for the wonderful world of work. Developed to tackle youth unemployment and inspire and help people between the ages of 14 and 24, the organisation offers opportunities to explore education and training options, connecting them with youth-friendly employers.
With a designated West Fraser page West Fraser – Youth Employment UK on the information-packed Youth Employment UK website, young people can read inspiring profiles of current West Fraser graduate trainees and explore real vacancies at West Fraser’s sites in South Molton, Cowie and Inverness. There are details of summer internships, placements, apprenticeships and graduate jobs. Visitors can also download West Fraser’s Young Professionals booklet here: west-fraser-careers-booklet.pdf (youthemployment.org.uk).
