Get to know…Sarah Burmingham!

Sarah Burmingham, Business Development Manager

Today we’re getting to know our Business Development Manager for the South West, Sarah Burmingham. 

Having honed her sales skills during 10 years selling advertising space for local newspapers in Devon, Sarah was ideally suited to a role with a leading builders’ merchant as a major account manager.  Four years at Jewson in the Devon and Cornwall area saw Sarah working with housebuilders and large contractors. “I got to know Norbord’s products really well and site managers would often ask for them over other brands as they were held up as superior in the panel market”, says Sarah.  “I got to know the company well too, as I worked closely with the sales team on a large-scale construction contract.  I was impressed with Norbord’s commitment to good customer service, so when I was asked if I wanted to work for West Fraser (previously Norbord!) I didn’t hesitate to say yes”.

So, now that Sarah has settled in, has working at West Fraser matched her expectations?  “As a company, and a group of people, West Fraser is very welcoming.  Senior managers are very approachable and make sure you have everything you need to do the best job.  I’ve been able to use my experience of working with customers to create business plans and help them to reach their end goals. So, yes, I would say working at West Fraser has been as rewarding as I expected it to be!” Sarah says.

And when Sarah’s not taking care of customers, she “may like the odd gin…. or two!”
