Roisin Weir, Key Account Manager

If you’re one of our distributors or merchants, you’ll probably already have met Roisin Weir!  Having worked for West Fraser (and formerly Norbord) for over five years, Roisin has built up quite a contact list.

After graduating from York St John University, Roisin studied for a master’s degree in business management at Umeå University in Sweden.  She was soon putting all that learning to good use with a position as a field sales marketer at Milwaukee Power Tools where she worked for two-and-a-half years after leaving university.

When looking for her next career step, Roisin was looking to use all the skills she had gained and wanted to join a company where she felt part of a close-knit team.  “I got a good feeling about Norbord (now West Fraser) as soon as I attended for my interview.  The interviewers were really interested in me as a person and, when I met the team, I received a warm welcome and was immediately drawn in”, says Roisin.

So, from a positive early experience, what does Roisin like about her job over five years later? Roisin says “I work with a great team of professionals and have been given the opportunity to progress.  During my first four-and-a-half years, I was a business development manager covering the North of England and managing one of our biggest accounts.  Since being promoted 10 months ago, I’m now a Key Account Manager looking after distributors, merchants and industrial customers.  I’ve been given the chance to nurture long-term working relationships with our customers and I like to create a partnership with clients where both parties can grow and develop together while providing a quality product.  That’s what I feel West Fraser has given me and I try to share that with our customers!”.
