Further to our recent communication regarding energy and raw material market developments, we are writing to advise you of a temporary surcharge that will be applied to our engineered wood panel products and related items, effective on deliveries from 1st April 2026. This action has become necessary due to increases in energy, transport, resins and other chemicals.
Energy and Feedstock Market Impact
The ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues to create volatility across global energy markets. This instability has contributed to significantly elevated energy prices, which have a direct impact on the manufacturing costs of OSB, MDF, and particleboard.
In addition, the same geopolitical pressures are influencing chemical and feedstock supply chains, driving up the costs of resins and other essential raw materials used in panel production. These increases are affecting both UK and European suppliers and have now reached levels that can no longer be fully absorbed.
Transport and Logistics
Costs are now elevated due to higher fuel prices. These pressures affect both inbound raw material transport and outbound delivery of finished goods.
To maintain continuity of supply, product quality and service levels, the following surcharges will be applied:
• OSB: 2.8%
• Particleboard (PB): 4.8%
• MDF: 9.2%
• Adhesives & Fixings: 4.5%
This decision has been taken after exhausting all reasonable internal measures. We hope this situation is temporary and we will continually review and update with any subsequent changes.
