Norbord donates towards Cowie community care efforts

Leading panel manufacturer, Norbord, has donated to support the Cowie Rural Action Group, who have been providing food and essential supplies to the elderly and vulnerable families in the community during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Over the past three weeks, the community group has been working with local businesses to help provide grocery bags and meal packs for over 60 families and 50 older residents to provide them with food for another few weeks.

The monetary donation from Norbord will help the group continue to provide meals and supplies ensuring that those in self-isolation can have access to all the supplies they need during this challenging time.

Clare Stevenson, Group leader at the Cowie Rural Action Group, said: “Being able to help those in need across Cowie is hugely important during this uncertain time and we’d like to thank everyone who has helped us to donate these grocery and food packages so far.

“However, as a volunteer ran group, we had limited resources available to continue doing this so we’re hugely thankful for Norbord for this wonderful donation. It’s been amazing how the community, volunteers and local businesses can all work together in these difficult times.”

David Liddle, EHS manager at the Norbord plant in Cowie, said: “We’re more than pleased to lend our support to the kind and highly vital work being carried out by the volunteers in the Cowie Rural Action Group.
