Main Purpose of Role:

Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement in parts of plant, equipment and systems to also ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that plant and equipment remains operational.

Completing fault-finding and maintenance repair works, an integral role will be played in terms of supporting the department, and providing technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the process.

To help reduce the downtime of plant to a minimum. To increase the output of all plant by means of improvement and/or modification wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Heavy involvement in planned preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
• Ensure work is completed in a safe and timely manner in line with Norbord’s expectations
• Investigate electrical plant faults, diagnose and rectify defects
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance
• Ability to investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
• Provide out of hours support where required
• Ensuring all electrical engineering activities within the area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies and procedures

Person Specification:

• Time served Electrician
• Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. A relevant further high-level qualification is also desirable
• Experience with PLCs, single phase and three phase drive systems
• Ability to read electrical circuit drawings and fault find in electrical panels
• The role requires the individual to be physically fit, capable of working at heights and in confined spaces
• A ‘hands-on’ individual with a positive ‘can-do’ approach to ensuring engineering standards are achieved and maintained
• Good IT skills
• Strong people and communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
